Vehicle Description

A good condition very low mileage 2005/05 Volvo S40 T5 SE in black sapphire metallic. The SE specification is very high with full leather trim, 6 CD high performance sound system, rain sensor, auto-dip mirror, cruise control, 17" alloys, DSTC, front fog lights, full climate control, trip computer & heated front seats.

This is the top model in the S40 range and it feels like it to drive. The 220bhp 5-cylinder T5 engine is superbly flexible and refined and drives through a 6-speed manual gearbox. As well as being very fast, we have used this car for a couple of journeys and have been frankly amazed at the economy. At fairly high motorway speeds we have seen over 40mpg and a consistent 38-39mpg which is not that much less than we find a 2.0d example does. Throw in the price premium for diesel and we reckon the T5 probably works out about the same per mile fuel cost as a 2.0d at typical motorway speeds. In mixed driving it seems to do about 32-33mpg which, again, is only about 5mpg down on what the diesel version seems to do in the real world.

This is a low mileage car so you wouldn't expect many imperfections and that is the case. All we can fault is a very slight mark/dent near the wheel arch on the passenger side which we doubt anyone would actually spot without it being pointed out to them and a previous owner obviously carried heavy keys in their right hand pocket as there are a few scratch marks on the driver's seat bolster.

As you would expect, it drives pretty much the same as a new one at over twice the price.

Tyres/Wheels

The wheels are in excellent condition with very few kerb marks or other imperfections - please enlarge the pictures below for further information. The tyres all OK - each front tyre has about 3mm and each rear has 5mm.

History

The car was supplied new in May 2005 by Volvo Bournemouth. It has been serviced at 17033 miles in November 2006 and we have just carried out the second service. The MOT is valid through to June 12 2009.

We have V5 (logbook), manual pack, service book, MOT & 2 remote keys.

Marks/Defects/Faults

Inner wheel arch liner slightly detached on wheel arch, some marks on driver's seat bolster, small 3" scratch on door lip.

All cars are subject to normal wear & tear through age & mileage.
